PRIVACY POLICY
SEOFY (Seofy SEO Optimizer)

This Privacy Policy explains how SEOFY ("the app", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when a merchant installs or uses the app in Shopify.

1. Information we access from your Shopify store
When you use the app, we access Shopify store data that you choose to view or optimize, including:
- Store information: shop domain and shop name.
- Authentication/session information: Shopify access tokens and session identifiers required to operate the app.
- Products: title, handle, vendor, product type, tags, description, and existing SEO title and meta description stored in Shopify metafields.
- Pages: title, handle, page summary/body content summary, and existing SEO title and meta description stored in Shopify metafields.
- Blog posts (articles): title, handle, blog title, and existing SEO title and meta description stored in Shopify metafields.

The app does not request access to orders, customers, or payment information.

2. Information we collect when you use the app
We may collect the following information to operate and secure the app:
- Request metadata (such as timestamps, IP address, and user agent) for troubleshooting, security monitoring, and preventing abuse.
- Subscription status and plan details provided by Shopify, which are used to determine access to paid features.

3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate the app with Shopify and maintain your session.
- Display products, pages, and blog posts along with the current SEO title and meta description status.
- Generate AI suggestions for SEO titles and meta descriptions when you request optimization.
- Update SEO title and meta description values in your Shopify store when you approve saving changes.
- Provide support and troubleshoot issues.

4. AI processing and third-party services
When you use AI Optimize, the app sends limited information to a third-party AI provider to generate SEO suggestions. The data sent may include:
- Shop name.
- Resource type (product, page, or blog post).
- Item title and handle.
- A content snippet used for SEO context (for example, a product description or page summary).
- Existing SEO title and meta description (if present).
- Optional hints such as vendor, product type, tags, or blog title.

We do not intentionally send customer or order data to the AI provider. If customer data is included in the content you choose to optimize, it may be included in the snippet sent for AI generation.

AI-generated text is returned to the app and is only stored in your Shopify store if you choose to apply the update.

5. Data storage and retention
We store Shopify session data (including access tokens) in our database to keep the app working. We retain session data while the app is installed and delete it when the app is uninstalled or when we receive Shopify's shop data erasure webhook.

We do not store copies of your product, page, or blog post content outside of Shopify as part of normal operation, other than transient processing needed to fulfill your requests.

6. Sharing of information
We share information only as needed to provide the app:
- With Shopify, to read and update the resources you select.
- With our service providers (hosting and database providers) to run the app infrastructure.
- With the configured AI provider when you request AI optimization.
- When required to comply with applicable laws or legal processes.

We do not sell merchant data.

7. Security
We use HTTPS for data transmission between Shopify, the app, and third-party services. Access to systems and databases is restricted to authorized personnel and services.

8. Your choices and requests
You can uninstall the app at any time. If you have questions or want to request deletion of app data associated with your store, contact us using the details in the Shopify App Store listing.

Shopify merchants can also submit customer privacy requests through Shopify, and Shopify may send mandatory privacy webhooks to the app to support those requests.

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above.
